Thriving Students
As a group our students are intelligent and have the desire to succeed, learn, and make friends but nonetheless are struggling in traditional settings. Unfortunately, with many occurrences of failure, their motivation and self-esteem can begin to fade. Southeast Journeys offers the modifications and social skills training needed to help our students reach their full potential for success. We provide a supportive, experiential learning environment where our students can build confidence in social and academic settings. Southeast Journeys specializes in students 13-17 who are experiencing some of the following issues:
- Asperger's Syndrome (AS)
- Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NLD)
- Information processing and organizational skills
- Social skills and pragmatic language
- Visual-spatial processing
- Academic self-motivation
- Independence from family
- Maintaining positive friendships
- Exhibiting behaviors associated with frustration, anxiety, and depression
- Exercise, grooming and nutrition
